  • Originated in France.
  • Originally known as the 'Riche' (French for valuable).
  • It has also been known as the Silver Sprig and Lincoln Silver.
  • In Europe the English Silver is known as the Argente Anglais and is found in blue, cream, havana, brown and gray.
  • One of the earliest exhibition breed.
  • One of the most popular Fancy breeds.
  • Hardy.
  • The ticking (silvering) process the Silvers go through can take as long as 6-7 months.
  • Suitable breed for older children.
