Arthritis

Arthritis is inflammation of the joints and it has many causes. In guinea pigs, arthritis is most commonly seen as a painful degenerative condition affecting older animals. Pain can be difficult to detect in guinea pigs, so careful observation of behaviour is important to ensure rapid and humane treatment.

If your guinea pig develops arthritis you may notice them slowing down and not being as active as they used to be
