Introduction

  • Monitoring heart function is paramount in anesthesia.
  • Due to the high metabolic rate of guinea pigs, any cardiovascular problem during anesthesia may have very serious and rapid consequences for the patient.
  • Heart function should be monitored during the pre-anesthetic, anesthetic and post-anesthetic periods.
  • Different ways to monitor cardiovascular function include physical examination with auscultation (stethoscope), electrocardiography, doppler, pulse oximetry Anesthesia: monitoring - pulse oximetry and blood pressure.
