  • Latex agglutination test.
  • Electrophoresis.
  • Radial immunodiffusion (RID) test - 'gold standard' - for specific immunoglobulin classes. Requires overnight incubation.

  • Widely available. Check with laboratory for method(s) available.

Technician (extrinsic) limitations

  • Electrophoresis: more sophisticated techniques or RID. May not have exact correspondence with immunoglobulinn levels measured by other techniques.
