Introduction

  • V-shaped full thickness eyelid wedge is removed to excise an eyelid tumor or to shorten the eyelid margin.

Advantages

  • Simple to perform.
  • Up to one third of eyelid can be removed in most dogs.

Prognosis

  • Usually good.
  • In the case of eyelid masses, the resected tissue could be submitted for histopathology, to obtain an accurate diagnosis and assess whether adequate excisional margins were obtained.
