Description

Molecular formula

  • Each liter contains:
    • 0.6 g sodium chloride.
    • 0.3 g potassium chloride.
    • 0.48 g calcium chloride hexahydrate.

Physical properties

  • Clear colorless solution.

Storage requirements

  • Store at 2-25°C (shelf-life 2 years).
    Discard after single dose

Indications

  • Its makeup resembles that of the extracellular fluid.
  • LRS may be used as a maintenance fluid if potassium is added.
