Indications

  • Used to treat gastric Gastric ulceration and duodenal ulcers (including NSAID-induced ulceration Analgesia: NSAID ).
  • Used prophylactically to prevent stress ulcers.
  • Adjunct therapy for reversing metabolic alkalosis.
  • Treatment ofHelicobactergastritis Gastritis: helicobacter in combination with antibiotics.
    4-10 times more potent than cimetidine Cimetidine and has minimal effects on hepatic enzymes.
  • Immunomodulation.

Interactions

Antacids, digoxin, ketoconazole or metoclopropamide
  • Ranitidine may reduce their absorption or effect.
Sucralfate
  • May reduce the absorption of ranitidine.
