Bacteriostatic agents
  • The bactericidal activity of cephalosporins may be affected by the concomitant use of bacteriostatic agents (eg erythromycin Erythromycin , tetracycline Tetracycline ).
Loop diuretics
  • For example frusemide Furosemide or amphotericin Amphotericin B.
  • There may be an increased risk of nephrotoxicity; monitor renal function.
Probenecid
  • Probenecid reduces the excretion of cephalosporins.
