Introduction

  • A rare complication of third stage labor.
  • Cause: continued post-partum straining while cervix is dilated.
  • Signs: fleshy mass from vulva.
  • Diagnosis: signs.
  • Treatment: general anesthesia (GA) (due to pelvic size) may be necessary to reduce, hysterectomy indicated if uterus devitalized.
  • Prognosis: good if prompt treatment.
