Synonym(s): Squamous cell carcinoma in situ, multifocal intra-epidermal squamous cell carcinoma, multicentric squamous cell carcinoma, Bowen's disease.


Introduction

  • Uncommon, invasive malignant tumor of epithelium.
  • Signs:
    • Ulcerated, locally destructive, slow-growing and usually inflamed.
    • May be actinic in non-pigmented skin.
  • Biological behavior of SCC in digits is malignant in a large number of cases (~30%).
