Introduction

  • Cause: idiopathic.
  • Signs: increased amounts of horny tissue from epidermis of nasal planum or footpads Skin: familial footpad hyperkeratosis.
  • Diagnosis: clinical signs, age of onset, histopathology.
  • Treatment: emollients.
  • Prognosis: lifelong condition.

Pathogenesis

Etiology

  • Idiopathic.
  • Secondary to several disorders.

Pathophysiology

  • Depends upon underlying cause.

Timecourse

  • Lifelong.
