Introduction

General information

  • Was nearly lost as a breed by the end of World War II, but breeders have regained much of the breed's excellent qualities. Still remains a relatively low population.
  • Affectionate and loyal and makes a good companion.
  • Only recently retained a hint of its working abilities, making training to the gun a frustrating activity.
  • Has common ancestry with the Sussex Spaniel Spaniel: Sussex , a breed with which it is often confused.
