Bio

Dr Vettorato is an EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia & Honorary Associate Professor Nottingham University.

He graduated from the Veterinary University of Padua, Italy in 2003.  At the same University he completed a PhD in 2007 before moving to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh where he started a three-year residency program in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.

In 2008, he gained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia. In February 2010, he moved to Dick White Referrals where is currently working as Consultant Anaesthetist. 

In December 2010 he became European Veterinary Specialist in Anaesthesia and Analgesia and from January 2011 Honorary Associate Professor in Veterinary Anaesthesia at Nottingham University. 

From January 2012 Dr Vettorato also started working as Consultant Anaesthetist at the Newmarket Equine Hospital and in 2015 he became a RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia.

Dr Vettorato is member of the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists, author of several international publications and speaker for several veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia courses. 

His main interests are pain management, loco-regional anaesthetic techniques and evaluation of quality of recovery in horses.
